common questions

What should I expect in my first appointment?

The first appointment is called an initial assessment and typically lasts one hour. The initial assessment is a chance for us to learn more about you and what brings you to our office. We'll ask questions about your concerns, how these concerns impact you, and your goals. This also gives us a chance to determine whether we are a good fit to continue working together, and if so, how we can best help. We'll make recommendations of what we think may be helpful for you. Then, we'll develop a plan of how to move forward.

How long are the sessions?

After the initial assessment session, subsequent therapy sessions range from 45 minutes to 60 minutes for individual and couples psychotherapy and nutrition therapy, depending on your needs and insurance benefits.

How often will we meet?

We generally meet with clients weekly. However, as part of our first appointment, we will talk more about your needs and make a plan together about next steps. As your needs change and you grow through therapy, we will discuss whether to increase or decrease our session frequency.
